Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Sophia’s Choice

It’s no secret how much we love The Golden Girls.

Over the years we’ve written about all sorts of things inspired by the foursome of sassy seniors, including prayer candlesbobble heads and a full line of Blanche Devereaux sex toys. (OK, that last one isn’t real. Yet. We’re taking it to Shark Tank next season.)

Yesterday the big news hit that the board game Clue would get a Golden Girls spin, except instead of discovering a murderer, you’re on the hunt for who ate the last piece of cheesecake.

We also learned that in July a GG version of Monopoly would be available, too. If we didn’t hate the boring real estate game so much, we might actually consider that one. But we’ll stick with Clue, thank you.

Meanwhile, our Instagram feed was blowing up with suggestions for a line of original Golden Girls art over on Etsy, with options that include the famous living room, lanai and kitchen. In fact, this particular artist does famous settings from several iconic sitcoms, such as Carrie’s bedroom on Sex and the City and Will’s apartment from Will & Grace.

We’re sure this won’t be the last time we write about something creative featuring Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche and Rose, so consider this fair warning. But also know that we do have standards.

Which is why we’ll never write about the shower curtain.

Clue: Golden Girls, $39.95 (pre-order)

Ooh, girl, there’s a battle brewing! And it might not end pretty because two top comediennes are battling for cable ratings, but more importantly, the allegiance of gay men everywhere. After four successful seasons of My Life on the D List for Kathy Griffin, the same formula is being applied to Margaret Cho’s life in The Cho Show on VH-1. […]
