As kids, one of the most exciting things for us was going to K-mart with our mom to buy school supplies.
(Sadly, there wasn’t Target in the town where we grew up.)
But this shopping expedition was vitally important. After all, our lunch box, Trapper Keeper and writing-utensil selection could make or break whether we spent the semester at the cool kids’ table or all alone in a corner crying into our pickled herring kabobs.
Well, this week we can get excited about drinking cocktails in the name of back-to-school. Or more specifically, to raise funds for Resource Center’s Youth First programs and services at a fabulous event presented by the Young Professionals Advisory Council (YPAC).
It all goes down this Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Goss-Michael Foundation. Enjoy complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, music from DJ Brandon Moses and valet parking for a $50 donation. The more people you bring, the more fun you’ll have. And the more good you’ll do to sustain this vitally important program.
Plus, merely showing up automatically makes you a cool kid.
