Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

That Syncing Feeling

Karaoke isn’t for everyone. Like us. We couldn’t sing our way out of a showerful of naked men. (Or however that expression goes.)

But lip-sync? That’s something we do really well. It’s a skill we attribute to mouthing “Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon” during performances of “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “Down by the Riverside” during our adolescent church choir phase.

Well, tonight you can put your own word-mouthing skills to the test during the debut of Lip Sync in a Bag at TMC. This brand-new competition from Athena O’Hara (pictured) is sure to bring the house down.

Sign up tonight from 11:00 to 11:45 p.m. The contest begins at midnight as each contestant digs into a drag bag to discover wigs, accessories and other costume items to complete a pop-star look in five minutes. You can bring your own props or rely on what’s in the bag.

Then the real fun begins.

Athena will assign a chart-topping song (no need to worry about getting something too obscure) and you perform it with whatever choreography you can come up with on the fly.

It all boils down to a final head-to-head competition between the top two contestants who battle it out for a $100 grand prize.

If only we could be rewarded monetarily every time we open our mouth.
