The devastation left behind this season’s hurricanes is horrific. And there’s suffering all over the southern United States and the Caribbean even weeks and months later.
But few have had a tougher time than the citizens of Puerto Rico. So Phi Phi O’Hara (pictured) decided to do something about it—with the help of several of her famous friends.
If you happen to be in Minneapolis on November 6 (or want to book a last-minute excursion to Minnesota), you’re in for a treat. Queens United/Reinas Unidas is a fundraiser benefiting Somos Una Voz, the relief initiative started by Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez and Marc Anthony.
The star-studded drag show Monday night features Phi Phi O’hara, along with Chad Michaels, Trinity Taylor, Naysha Lopez, Ongina, Mariah Paris Balenciaga, Acid Betty, Jiggly Caliente, Ginger Minj, Pandora Boxx, Cynthia Lee Fontaine, Mystique Summers, Madame LeQueer and Bob The Drag Queen, just to name a few.
And they’re all donating their time and talents, plus paying their own expenses to get there.
Of course, we realize the vast majority of you won’t be able to get to Minneapolis, but you can still donate in the name of these great drag queens to show that our community cares and makes a difference. Donate on their page at youcaring.com, which has already surpassed the initial $10,000 goal.
It’s going to take a lot more efforts like this to get the people of Puerto Rico back on their feet, but hopefully this will inspire others to come together to do some real good.
And laugh a lot, too.
