News & Reviews for Gay Dallas

Livin’ La Vida Local

If we had sex with a woman the first night we went to Local in Deep Ellum, our spawn would be in middle school right now. Scary thought.

Also the one about having a child.

Yet one of our favorite-ever restaurants in Dallas celebrates 15 years this February, making us feel really old. Nothing has changed at the casually chic fine-dining destination, though, which makes us feel like we’re traveling back in history every time we walk through the door.

Chef-owner Tracy Miller‘s food continues to evolve and mesmerize on the plate and palate, yet has kept some of the all-time favorites on the menu for those nostalgic-minded folks. If you’ve never been, haven’t been in years, or go every other day, February is definitely the month you want to hit up Local.

In celebration of her restaurant’s 15-year anniversary, chef Tracy will offer every guest a complimentary champagne cocktail to every guest who dines between February 1 and 28.

Better still, diners can indulge in an eight-course tasting menu featuring some greatest hits and some new twists, too (we’ve posted the full menu at the end of this story). The elaborate meal costs $75 with wine pairings offered for an additional $35. It’s a great way to experience Tracy’s unique culinary point-of-view whether it’s a special occasion or just a random Thursday night on the town.

We’re confident you’re going to fall in love.

And with enough champagne cocktails, possibly have sex with a woman.
