Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

From Russia With Lust

Now this is some Russian collusion we could get behind. Or in front of. Or both.

As a gay man from the Republic of Kazakhstan growing up in Russia, Alexander Abramov experienced more than his fair share of discrimination in varying degrees, from the usually trolling online to some rather scary threats of physical harm. Even death.

So after moving to New York City, he paired up with photographer Dmitry Bocharov to visually tell his life story so far in a series of five glossy books, assembled from more than 5,000 shots in multiple locations. And various states of undress.

Uncovered Volume 1: Wrangler and Volume 2: Mercenary can be pre-ordered now, with 10% of proceeds benefiting the Russian LGBT Network, which helps protect youth in his home countries.

His story’s as beautiful as he is, and we can’t wait to see what comes next in the final three volumes. Yet for now, we’re happy to thumb our way through the first two.

Possibly under the covers with a flashlight.
