Mariel Street likes to stick interesting things between buns.
Lamb. Bison. Ahi Tuna.
Marinated cucumbers. Hashbrowns. Gorgonzola.
You’ll likely find the talented restaurateur at one of her many Liberty Burger locations around town, so if you see her when you visit, make sure to thank her for elevating the burger game in Dallas ever since the first location opened in 2010.
It’s hard to believe it’s been around that long already, but we’re always discovering new reasons to love the local chain. From the high-quality ingredients and creative flavor combinations to hot new trends like the amazing meatless Impossible Burger, Street and her family know how to make a burger.
One of our favorite features, however, might be the regularly changing Give Back Burger. Every month or so, a new burger gets launched with a portion of proceeds from each benefiting a specific charity.
This month and throughout August, order an Austin Blue and $1 from each burger goes directly to BlueLoop, a non-profit web and mobile app that assists children with medical issues get the care they need by coordinating communication between all the people involved in their care. But what you really want to know, probably, is what’s in the yummy sandwich. It all starts with Liberty Burger’s house blend of ground chuck and tenderloin. To that, smoked brisket is added, beefing up the patty to a massive half-pound of juicy bliss. It’s all topped with red onion, fried pickles and housemade Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce.
Best of all, you can suggest a charity to benefit from the Give Back Burger or a special Give Back Night where a portion of proceeds go right to the organization chosen.
Because we’ll do just about anything to ease the guilt from inhaling a double cheeseburger, fries, onion rings and an adult milkshake.
