Put Some Gay In Your Day!

Man’s Best Friends. Lots And Lots Of Friends.

We just watched a new documentary and saw our future as clear as the balls on an unneutered dog.

We want to be the next Danny or Ron.

Because after screening Life in the Doghouse, we can’t think of anything better than having a house full of dozens of cute, cuddly dogs in need of rescue. The documentary follows this remarkable, compassionate couple as they celebrate 10 years and 10,000 rescues from their home-run non-profit.

We ugly-cried through half the movie and happy-cried the other half. But in the end, it’s such an uplifting story about finding a passion and using it to make a positive change in the world.

The movie will be released in the fall as a Theatrical On Demand title, which means organizations can request screenings and sell tickets to the movie in their city.

On Saturday, August 25, Studio Movie Grill Plano welcomes the film, presented by The Andrea-Mennen Family Foundation. Tickets range in price from $25 for a movie-only screening to $70 for a VIP experience complete with a meet-and-greet with the filmmakers and the real-life men behind Danny & Ron’s Rescue.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit three dog rescue non-profits: DFW Rescue Me, Humane Tomorrow, and StraydogOf course, even if you can’t make any of the screenings, you can always donate to any of the organizations via their website. But we guarantee that as soon as the end credits roll, you’ll want to donate a lot. And maybe adopt a dog of your own.

Speaking of which, Neiman Marcus Willow Bend will host adoptions from the three local rescue groups the same day (August 25) between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

So you could go home that afternoon with a poochy and a Gucci.
