We just got our lab work back from the doctor.
Luckily, we had no STDs, our cholesterol was normal, and our testosterone is off the charts. (You’ve been warned, fellas!) But the results also showed that our body composition is now 17% breakfast tacos—which totally shocked us.
We would’ve thought it was closer to 25%.
That can all change this weekend if we squeeze in some time at Digg’s Tacos on Gaston Avenue. Unlike the SMU-adjacent location that doesn’t offer breakfast at all, this East Dallas joint near White Rock Lake serves up breakfast every day until 11:00 a.m.
So yes, that means a very early brunch for most of us, but Digg’s scores bonus points for being able to get us out of bed before noon on the weekends
And as far as we’re concerned margaritas are the new mimosas and margaritas are the key to kicking off any Saturday or Sunday Funday worth the hype, so that’s a perk of brunching at a taco spot, too.
The menu features simple egg, cheese, and fill-in-the-blank tacos, but also some hefty numbers (including a massive under-$5 burrito) that’ll fill you up but good.
Our favorite of the bunch is the If Austin Was A Taco (pictured). A warm tortilla gets loaded with two farm eggs, cheddar cheese, a sliced jalapeño hot link sausage, and a generous ladle of barbecue sauce. We adore BBQ sauce on breakfast tacos and not many places offer it so yay, Digg’s!
After chowing on all those tacos, you can literally walk across the parking lot behind White Rock Ale House and access the trails around White Rock Lake to burn some calories with a one-two punch of fresh air and beautiful scenery.
Or just stay on the patio and let your Apple Watch remind you every hour when it’s time to stand.
