Turning 50 can be scary. (Trust us, it’s happening to us sooner than we’d like.)
But it also represents a monumental achievement, whether as a person or a movement that changed the world.
This June marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots and the beginning of major change for the LGBTQ communities of the universe. Pride truly began here.
So if you’ve never been to Pride in New York City, this is going to be one helluva party. Not only will Stonewall be celebrated, it’s also the first-ever WorldPride in the United States.
There are almost too many events to list (so we won’t), but be assured that there will be something for everybody. As for the big day of the march, we’ll be splurging for $200 grandstand seating (complete with food, drinks & VIP restrooms). It’s expensive, but worth every penny if you’ve ever had nature call while you’re in the middle of a major event in NYC.
Just make sure to book your hotel or vacation rental as soon as you can because the city will be at maximum capacity. We’re staying at the chic Chelsea property, Hotel Americano, right in the heart of the action. Rooms can still be found for as little as $283 per night for double occupancy, which is a real bargain considering hotel rooms other non-Pride times of the year can cost far more than that.
We hope you’ll join us in Manhattan for this multi-day soirée five decades in the making. The term once-in-a-lifetime shouldn’t be thrown around freely, but in this instance, it’s practically an understatement.
