Seeing a naked guy in person sure beats the heck out of seeing one online.
The same thing goes for drag musical numbers: A queen who sings a song live will almost always be better than a lip-sync.
That’s why we love Miss Big Thickette, the Turtle Creek Chorale drag pageant that’s been entertaining crowds for 30 years. It’s back this Sunday with host Nelda Pickens keeping a watchful (judgmental) eye on her contestants as they showcase their immense talents and even immensier voices.
The more money a contestant raises in advance (and via tips at the show), the more points they earn. The more points they earn, the better their chances are of taking home the coveted title. Plan to hit the ATM first because all proceeds benefit the Chorale’s LifeWalk team.
Reigning Miss Big Thickette, Marsha Dimes, will be on-hand to perform, so fans of hers know that anything can happen.
And will happen.
