Brunch Of The Week: Beer For Breakfast

Can a place that specializes in beer be good for brunch?

What a crazy question. Of course, it can!

At least if it’s Blatt Beer & Table in Preston Hollow Village. We’ve been going here on the regular for chicken tenders at lunch (they’re some of the very best in town) ever since they opened, so going there for weekend brunch was a complete no-brainer.

We’ve featured them as a Brunch of the Week before, but with a whole new brunch menu, we had to make a return visit to determine if they deserved an update. And you can probably guess the answer. (Hint: It’s a big YES!)

We started things off with a Beermosa made with local Revolver Blood & Honey American wheat ale, but you can also go the traditional mimosa route with the all-new bubbly bar. They’ll bring a carafe to your table then you get to choose your juices and garnish with fresh fruit from a nice selection.

But the real fun starts when the food arrives. New menu items include donut holes, a yogurt parfait, breakfast fries, spiked coffee, the Down South Sunrise, the Cure Burger, bread pudding French Toast, the Blattiator, chicken n’ biscuits, and a yummy sticky biscuit.

Here are three of our favorites:

The Cure Burger features everything you could ever want: an over-easy egg, Guiness-braised onions, honey ham, applewood smoked bacon, and fried mac and cheese balls.
The Blattiator also comes jam-packed with indulgences: a buttermilk biscuit filled with an over-easy egg, applewood smoked bacon, honey ham, white cheddar, hash browns, Guiness-braised onions and sausage gravy.
The bread pudding French toast satisfies breakfast sweet-tooth cravings with a treat that’s soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Make plans to check out Blatt Beer & Table this weekend. Who knows, you might luck out with patio weather, but inside is just as nice. The scene during brunch is pretty chill, but that just made it easy to linger longer.

And we love pretty much anything long.
