Well, well, well.
That’s the state of health we prefer to maintain, but sometimes life throws us a curveball in the form of a terrible cold. A splinter in a precarious place. Or a nasty case of Chlamydia (oops).
Regardless of what ails us, however, we want to see a doctor who truly understands us and our unique needs as part of the LGBTQ community.
Luckily, our healthcare options in North Texas continue to grow.
Hopefully, you’ve already read here about the various services offered by Prism Health North Texas and HELP Center PrEP Program. And now Resource Center can be added to the list thanks to their recently opened LGBTQ Health center.
Like the other programs in the area, you can get access to PrEP, but most importantly, you can see Dr. Gene Voskuhl for all your primary care needs. With insurance or without.
We toured the facility on Reagan Street last week and we were extremely impressed with the small-but-efficient setup and found Dr. Voskuhl to be a real delight. Appointments aren’t crammed back to back, either, so he has plenty of time to talk with each patient and truly understand what’s going on.
Diabetes, flu shots, general care, HIV treatment, hypertension, PrEP access, sexually transmitted infections, smoking cessation, vaccinations and weight loss are just some of the many services offered under the primary care program.
All in a stigma-free environment.
Because if there’s one thing we hate paying for, it’s stigma.
