Holiday Meat Up

Turkey not your cup of gravy?

Fear not, this is Texas, after all. Which means beefy options galore 24/7/365.

Whether you’re looking for an alternative to the traditional Thanksgiving spread or a place to celebrate the holiday season, the new 12 Cuts Brazilian Steakhouse in Far North Dallas has you covered—in meaty, meaty juices.

We were invited to go with friends recently and even though it was a trek from our part of Dallas, the churrascaria experience here gives off a slightly more laidback vibe than other Brazilian steakhouses in town. Sure, it’s a white table cloth affair, but the rest of the space is sleek yet casual without a bit of pretense.

The offerings aren’t much different than its competitors, though there are a few nice additions such as an all-organic salad bar with dozens of fresh, leafy green options (and the sleeper hit of the entire meal—creamy chicken salad). Another perk for us is a chafing dish filled to the brim with marinated mushrooms, which we ladled into a bowl to share with our tablemates to accompany various steaks.

We worked our way through every protein available and each preparation was done to perfection. Our favorites from the whirlwind of meats included the Picanha (top sirloin), Costela (bone-in ribeye), Bife Ancho (ribeye), Cordeiro (rack of lamb) and the Lombo (parmesan-crusted pork loin).

The all-you-can-eat price ranks as quite the bargain, too, especially when compared to a-la-carte dining on or around major holidays. So make a reservation soon.

Think of it as your own personal turkey pardon.
