Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Brunch Of The Week: A Fond Farewell

We’ve had 50 different Brunches of the Week this year.

So to bid adieu to 2019, we decided to also say a proper adios to an all-time favorite brunch place that’ll scramble its last egg and pour its final mimosa come January 1. (But good news, their next concept opens in East Dallas in 2020!)

Of course, there’s still plenty of time to get in at least one last Capitol Pub brunch fix.

Goodbye, potato cakes. We’ll miss you second-most of all

The Henderson Avenue staple has five final brunches to fill our needs the next three Saturdays and two Sundays. So, in theory, you could go each day, order a few things and eventually get everything on the menu. That means chicken fried steak and eggs, their amazing potato cakes with smoked salmon and the Hangover sandwich that’s saved us on more than one occasion (pictured at top of story).

Here’s hoping each of these (and the chicken and biscuits, too!) will make the cut at Lochland’s when the owners debut it in January.

In addition to the usual mimosas and Bloody Marys, you can even get a breakfast martini made with Bulleit bourbon and accented with pure maple syrup.

Sigh.

We’re really going to miss being classy with a martini in the morning.
