Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

It Doesn’t Have To Be Hard To Make You Happy

Ready to remove liquor from your happy hour repertoire?

Fear not, you’ll still get a buzz from the cocktails at MoMo Italian Kitchen’s inventive Apertivi Hour. Happening Monday through Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays), this great-value happy hour will challenge everything you thought you knew about booze.

You can still get favorites such as mojitos, negronis and old fashioneds (pictured above), but here they’re all made with wine-based, hard liquor alternatives. And we’re pretty sure you wouldn’t know the difference if you hadn’t been told right here. Or by your server. Or read it on the menu.

Before the holidays, we went with friends and sampled each cocktail and every food item on the happy hour menu (available only at the bar) and we were all amazed at how these drunken doppelgangers tasted just like their much higher-proof, spirited alternatives. In fact, we love the idea of lower alcohol-by-volume drinks at happy hour because it’s the difference between having a light buzz and getting smashed.

Better still, these cocktails and select wines by the glass start at only $5, with beer starting off at a mere two bucks. Happy hour bites range from a delightful mushroom salad and antipasto bowls to heartier lamb meatballs and gnocchi di spinaci—all starting at a low, low $2.

So next time you’re looking for a new take on happy hour that’s a bit different (and a bit off the beaten path), head to MoMo Italian Kitchen on Forest Lane.

It’ll give you plenty to wine about.
