It’s funny how naive we can be sometimes. Back in June 2015 we actually had the thought that a lot of LGBTQ organizations might cease to exist because history was finally on the side of equality.
Man, oh man, do we feel dumb now.
With the equal rights of our community in more jeopardy now than they’ve been in a long time, organizations like the Human Rights Campaign represent our biggest hope in the fight for justice.
The mission of the Dallas/Fort Worth Federal Club is to financially support these critical works of the HRC and they’re always in need of more members and support at the local level.
This Friday night, the Federal Club hosts its monthly happy hour at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. In addition to a special tour of the new museum, guests will be treated to complimentary beer and wine courtesy of the DFW Federal Club Governing Committee.
Self-parking will be available in the garage for $8 (or ride-share because, well, free wine and beer). Large bags are not allowed in the museum, so leave those Berkin bags at home, fellas. And hopefully, this goes without saying, but no weapons either.
At the HRC, after all, the only ammunition required will be big ideas, strong leadership and huge donations.
Hmmm. Those are three of our other favorite things.
