O.M.G.
We are so excited to feature a virtual event that has an entirely different twist to it—one in which you can showcase your creativity.
This Thursday, Cry Havoc Theater Company presents Project Ghostlight, where participants are encouraged to submit in advance two minutes worth of writing. Whether it’s a poem, short story, song or other written medium, your submission must launch from this week’s theme words: Sand, Growth and Joy. Choose one, two or all three as inspiration and submit by 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2 along with the piece’s title and a brief bio.
Cray Havoc Theater Company offers theatrical training to young people who might not have the financial resources to join pay-for-play theater groups, instead relying solely on the talent of each person. That said, your two-minute written piece should be suitable for high-school students. (So much for our story about a certain something growing then bringing us joy.)
The virtual open mic night will be hosted by Marlon Meikle (pictured) and all you have to do is RSVP for the free event, which will stream live at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
So get creative and start writing. Or simply log in to see what’s happening in the imaginations of others throughout Dallas.
It’s going to be amazing.
