The closest we’ve ever come to being confused for a cowboy was the time we got locked out of our house holding a rope and wearing nothing but faux alligator boots and a 10-gallon hat. Let’s just say the “Howdy, Pardner!” we received from the locksmith was less than convincing.
But this week’s Toast to Life: Sequins & Saddles, falls right in our comfort zone. Because if anyone can gay up a western-wear ensemble, it’s us.
Join us Saturday night for a one-hour virtual version of the popular Resource Center fundraiser, streaming on devices all around town. The event features hilarious commentary from host Steve Kemble with entertainment from DJ Blake Ward, The Roof Raisers and Cameron Hawthorn.
Tickets to the event are $50 (remember, this is a fundraiser for all the great work of Resource Center) and raffle tickets are available for only $10 apiece, even if you don’t attend the streaming event. The prize up for grabs is 50,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles, a $1610 value. Your odds of winning are better than most raffles, too, because only 500 tickets will be sold. Plus, travel is one of the things we’re looking forward to more than anything when all this COVID-19 stuff is behind us.
Additionally, there’s a massive auction going on that you can start bidding on now. Items up for grabs include luxurious multi-night vacations to exotic destinations, original artwork, gift cards, jewelry, home accessories and unique experiences around town. Many items have zero bids yet, so you could be the first (and maybe only) to bid on something fabulous. The auction ends on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
Or simply log on Saturday night for a little horsing around.
