Two things almost guaranteed to make the gays happy: Christmas and Dolly Parton. Bring the two together and a joy overdose could sweep the nation right when it’s needed most.
Today, Dolly Parton released the first single, “Mary, Did You Know?” from her forthcoming holiday album, A Holly Dolly Christmas. We have to admit, this has never been one of our favorite carols, but darn if Dolly doesn’t make us love it for the first time.
The rest of the album runs the gamut from sprightly tunes for rockin’ around the Christmas tree to additional slow jams for Santa. Collaborating with her is a who’s who of popular singers, including Miley Cyrus, Miley’s dad Billy Ray, Michael Bublé, Jimmy Fallon and Willie Nelson. Even Dolly’s brother Randy joins her on a track.
The complete album doesn’t drop until October 2, but you can pre-order it here on nearly every platform known to humankind. We know it’s only August, but this album will be blasting from our sound system before you know it.
Finally, something to look forward to in 2020.
