While we’re still dissecting last night’s events, let’s kick back with an ice-cold cocktail.
A really low-stress one.
We’ve written about a lot of hard seltzers in these digital pages the last year or so, but RancH2O (pronounced Ranch Two Oh) falls squarely into the genuine, real, 100% legit cocktail category. They just happen to be in cans.
And as an added bonus, the company is based and was co-founded right here in Dallas by Amelia Lettieri.
Unlike most hard seltzers, RancH2O beverages feature real spirits—tequila, vodka and gin—yet maintain one of the biggest selling points of their hard seltzer counterpoints: they’re still low-calorie!
Each can clocks in at only 150 calories and the alcohol by volume remains low, too (between 6.5 and 7% ABV) so you can drink responsibly and savor every sip. RancH2O comes in four varieties: Ranch Water (tequila, soda water, and lime), Classic Marg (tequila, soda water, lime, and orange), Vodka Soda (vodka, soda water, and cranberry), and the coming-soon Gin Fizz (gin, soda water, and lime).
They sent us a variety pack to sample and we loved them all, but the Vodka Soda squeaked by as our favorite. Mostly because our go-to vodka soda recipe features just a splash of cranberry juice (a concoction known in the New Orleans French Quarter as a Rose Kennedy). So it was equal parts flavor and nostalgia for one of our favorite vacation spots in the world.
Best of all, a four-pack will set you back a mere $13.99 (or the cost of a single cocktail out at most places in town).
Serve them up in a fancy glass with some ice and a lime wedge and nobody has to know your secret. Unless they start snooping through your recycling bin.
