Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Mask Up (Take Your Pick)

Another year, another virtual Toast to Life event.

Even though it’s not ideal for anyone, we’re excited to attend this year’s event online to show our support for this fabulous event—no matter where it’s happening.

And unlike last year when we couldn’t even watch it with friends in the same room, we’re happy we have a small group of Vaxxed-to-the-Maxxers for whom we can safely host a watching party.

We’re not sure if the Venetian Carnival theme is someone’s cheeky way of incorporating a more fun type of mask than we’ve grown accustomed to, or if it was simply a delightful happenstance over at Resource Center.

Either way, we’ll be pulling out our Carnival finest.

Hosted by the always-hilarious Steve Kemble, the event is co-chaired by Brittanie Bucahanan Oleniczak and Darin Kunz and will feature music by DJ Blake Ward, Caleb Hans, Heart to Heart Duo, the acrobatics of Flying Free Aerial Magic, and showstopping fashion and voguing from members of the Gulf Coast Kiki Ballroom scene.

Of course, plenty of surprises are planned, too.

Even though we were all experiencing major Zoom fatigue by the time last year’s virtual event rolled around, Resource Center managed to raise $207,000. Pretty impressive, but we’re challenging everyone to help beat that benchmark.

Then next year we can all look back with pride at how we all pulled it off again.
