One of our favorite queer movies of all time gets the COVID-era treatment this Saturday.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch returns to the big-ish screen with a CarBaret drive-in event at Brizo in Richardson.
This classic movie musical kicks off the second season of socially distanced drive-in events at the restaurant’s parking lot. But what’s really cool, unlike some of the recent outdoor movie experiences, you don’t have to stay in your car for this one. You can also sit in a chair under the stars.
In addition to the main feature, the North Texas premiere of THAT, the story of a clown who wants to be scary like everybody’s favorite IT clown, Pennywise.
But to start things off in supreme gender-bending style, Harley Deville will be performing—and putting the cabaret in CarBaret.
And because no good cabaret exists without a few drinks (and maybe some food if you’re not a liquid dieter like us), you can pre-order gourmet hot dogs and tater tots when you reserve your ticket, then order cocktails direct from Brizo at the event itself.
Limited space means you need to purchase your tickets as soon as possible. A reserved parking spot will only set you back $20 for everyone in the car, or you can purchase a single chair space for $10.
No outside food or drinks permitted (remember, you’re trying to help support this local business during a tough time, so please no sneaky-sneaky any drinky-drinkies).
And yes, restrooms will be available, so you can pull out your own angry inch when nature calls.
