Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

The Artistic Side Of Pride

Today we hit the halfway point of Pride Month, but the celebration of LGBTQ+ culture hasn’t lost any momentum.

This weekend, the Dallas Arts District partners with the Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas, Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, and the AT&T Performing Arts Center to present Pride Party+.

Featuring a combination of in-person and virtual events, the weekend-long party kicks off online Friday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. with host Terry Loftis, performances by former Miss Southern Pride and RuPaul’s Drag Race favorite Kennedy Davenport; Miss Dallas Southern Pride 2021, Porsche Paris; and Dezi 5.

In-person events include a full lineup of programming at the DMA, including self-guided tours about five LGBTQ+ artists in the museum’s collection, interactive art projects, pop-up performances, merchandise from LGBTQ+ creators for purchase, and film screenings.

Plus, when you get a free HIV test, you’ll also get a complimentary ticket to Saturday night’s Southern Pride Mega Party at Gilley’s, for which sales have already ended. So not only will you be empowered by knowing your HIV status, you’ll be getting access to a coveted, hard-to-get-into event.

It’s going to be a fantastic weekend as Dallas comes together for Dallas Southern Pride and Juneteenth Unity Weekend and some much-needed culture in the arts district.

We’re over the moon—and over the rainbow.
