What are you doing today at 4:00 p.m.?
If the answer lies somewhere between “Nothing” and “Help me think of an excuse to tell my boss”, we’ve got a suggestion that will make your Monday.
Hell, it’ll make your week.
Ever since Loro opened in Dallas, the concept from Uchi chef Tyson Cole and Franklin Barbecue pitmaster Aaron Franklin has been one of our all-time favorite restaurants in Dallas. Not only did they manage to perfectly fuse Texas barbecue with Asian ingredients and techniques, but they’ve also created a series of crave-worthy items that are only available at specific times of the day and/or specific days of the week.
But we have an insider tip. It’s what we call the Loro Magic Hour, the lone 60-minute time period of the week when you can enjoy Every. Single. Menu. Item. Plus, you get the added bonus of happy hour prices for that same hour, too.
The reason we adore this specific Monday hour so much is that we can get the Sunday/Monday-only baby back ribs, as well as the smoked brisket, both of which aren’t available until 4:00 p.m. You can also only get the Loro Cheeseburger and Crispy Smoked Chicken Sandwich daily until 5:00 p.m. (but they’re both about $3 cheaper during happy hour).
Happy hour prices also get you $5 boozy slushes (frozen gin & tonic, mango sake, and mojito), as well as a selection of $4 wines, beers, and sakes, and even a $3 Sapporo draft. And today, they’ve extended happy hour until 6:00 p.m. for the fall.
Understanding our infatuation yet?
Our advice is to load up on all the happy hour items first, then after 6:00 if you’re still hungry you can chow down on limited-availability items such as the ribs and smoked brisket.
Of course, any day of the week, we can pretty much guarantee an incredible experience at Loro. We’ve been at all hours of the day, different weekdays and weekend nights and it’s never fallen short of pure culinary bliss.
But throw in a bargain and we’re yours for life.
