As many of you know (either personally or through visiting this site), we’ve slept our way around the city for the last several years.
And sometimes we stay in hotels, too!
Even before the C-word hit the planet in 2020, we loved mixing in staycations with our regular travels around the world. But now they’ve become a regular part of our lives and it’s fun to explore different parts of the city with top-notch accommodations as our home base.
Over two different weekends this past few months, we’ve had the pleasure of staying at Virgin Hotels Dallas and being treated like the VIPs we see in our mirror. It’s already one of our favorite spots in town for drag brunch, but that same energy, fun and excitement carry over to every corner of the hotel.

If you really want to splurge on the ultimate Dallas staycation, check out Sir Richard’s Flat, a sprawling 1,400-square-foot suite with wrap around balcony (and killer downtown views).
It’s a great place to entertain a few friends before dinner at Commons Club downstairs or venturing out to nearby Oak Lawn and all the LGBTQ bars. There’s even a LiteBoxer fitness machine so you can work out in the privacy of your own space. (And not worry about other people making fun of your boxing maneuvers!)

On our second visit, we stayed in a smaller-but-equally-decked-out Deluxe Chamber King Suite.
A friend who’s stayed over at the hotel before swears that the beds are amazing for sex because of their special design, but we’ll have to take his word for it. (We were usually too tired at night from The Spirit Hour, a free cocktail experience for those in The Know with liquor, beer and wine selections that aren’t well swill, either.) Insane amounts of incredible food at Commons Club for dinner didn’t help with our sleepiness.

Our Deluxe Chamber King Suite also featured a massive soaking tub and a separate shower room that’s quite literally a room. Without any trouble, we guess it could easily fit a dozen people.
(Because conserving water and being eco-conscious is super-sexy!)

No stay would be complete without visiting the Pool Club and rooftop pool deck with cabanas and the same amazing views of the Dallas skyline. Before and after drag brunch, this turns into its own gay bar of sorts, so check it out even if you only have a table booked for brunch versus an overnight stay.
Adjacent to the pool there’s a little conservatory-style nook with its own jaccuzi separate from the hustle and bustle of the main pool. We enjoyed the hot tub every morning with coffee during our staycation weekend and we were the only ones there—pure bliss with a side of bubbles.

So next time you’re looking to sleep around Dallas like a pro, book one of the rooms or suites at Virgin Hotels Dallas and you’ll even enjoy a 30% discount as a Texas local.
Just rest up beforehand because it’s a luxe experience that’s as out-of-this-world outrageous as you want it to be.
