If you didn’t get enough early Cinco de Mayo celebrations this weekend, mark your calendar for a queer event on the actual holiday.
This Thursday, the Cedar Springs Merchant Association hosts its May Wine Walk on Cinco de Mayo (which translates perfectly to May 5 in English). Instead of the stereotypical margaritas, sip on wine all evening as you work your way from one business to another along the Strip.
Purchase a commemorative glass for $10 at the tent in front of the Round-Up Saloon & Dance Hall then stroll to participating restaurants, bars and retailers for a refill, as well as specials and other treats along the way.
The Gilligan-worthy three-hour tour kicks off at 6:00 p.m. and participants are encouraged to return to the Round-Up at 9:00 p.m. for a gift basket raffle overflowing with goodies from the gayborhood merchants.
Proceeds from the event go to making the neighborhood better, so consider this your chance to get buzzed for beautification!
(Which reminds us, please don’t drink and drive).
