We can’t wait for patio weather to return.
And the first place on our list for that glorious day with mere double-digit temperatures? Fiatto in Uptown. We’ve only been for brunch, but the food was so good and the patio so beautiful that we know we’ll be back.
For now, however, we’re all about that brunch.
The tastefully decorated but refreshingly casual Fiatto takes its chef-driven approach to everything on the weekend brunch menu.

Menu standouts include the perfectly seasoned steak and eggs, which is served with a sunny side egg and salsa verde hollandaise (something we want to add to everything we eat from now on). The soft scrambled egg comes with mushrooms, herbed bread crumbs, arugula, shallots and black truffle cream for an exquisite combination.
And for something sweet, it’s a toss-up between the “Ferrero Rocher” Waffle (Nutella, hazelnuts, maple syrup, whipped cream and gold flakes) or the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (pictured at top of story with cannoli cream, Amarena cherries and Sicilian pistachios). So we recommend getting both and deciding for yourself.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a real brunch without some boozy libations. You can’t go wrong with the Big Time Mimosa (a full bottle of prosecco and a trio of juices to DIY). Another favorite (and not simply because of the name) is the Resting Spritz Face, a variation on a classic Aperol spritz with the delightful addition of pineapple.
So if you’re in the mood for a trip to Italy this weekend, you won’t even have to dig your passport out of your underwear drawer.
