Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Caroling, Caroling For A Cause

We used to love Christmas caroling when we were kids.

It always felt like Halloween in reverse to us because we were knocking on strangers’ doors and giving them something for once.

Sure, oftentimes it was a pitchy rendition of “Away in a Manger” or “O Holy Night” with a tambourines and kazoos, but we were giving of ourselves nonetheless.

Tonight, you can be on the giving and receiving end of caroling. It’s called being Verse Verse (and sometimes Chorus Verse.)

A couple of years ago Carols for a Cause was started by artist-dancer-singer-actor-director-choreographer-producer Michael Anthony Sylvester (we just had to purchase more hyphens!)

Whenever Sylvester’s back in town from NYC, it’s all about giving back to the community.

Proceeds from tonight’s event at Alexandre’s once again benefit Promise House, Inc. More than $5,000 has been raised over the course of the past two or three Carols for a Cause events, so you can be part of helping make an even bigger impact this year.

They’ll pass a hat during the show, so be as generous as you’re able.

Sylvester has gathered together some of DFW’s finest musical theater artists, drag performers and vocalists for one night of holiday carols. There will also be raffle prizes and other festive surprises.

So get ready to show up tonight for a whole lot of giving and receiving.
