Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Get Your Buns To The Gayborhood’s Newest Burger Joint

If you’re getting déjà vu over the recent announcement of Dallas getting a Hamburger Mary’s, you’re not the only one.

We remember fondly the Hamburger Mary’s on Lemmon Avenue several years back, but we’re more than confident that this right-in-the-gayborhood reboot of the popular franchise will be far more successful.

Especially to all of us wishing to celebrate and support the art of drag.

As of tonight’s grand opening of Hamburger Mary’s Dallas (2.0), it’s officially a fabulous new option for dining and entertainment when you head to the gayborhood.

Led by the glamorous show director Liquor Mini (Danny Cabrera), a cast featuring some top North Texas drag talent will entertain day after day in the space that formerly housed Cedar Springs Draft House.

The cast keeps growing, but here’s what you can expect on opening weekend.

Tonight’s 8:00 p.m. show stars Kiba Walker, Leyla Edwards, Angelique Rodriguez, and Saint from Dragula.

Friday, June 2, the grand opening festivities continue with another 8:00 p.m. show starring Dulce Strutts, Mary Con, Penelope Devereaux, Tracey Nixon, Saint from Dragula, and RaJah O’Hara, winner of RuPaul Drag Race Canada vs the World.

In addition to the remaining regular cast of entertainers (including Ra’Maya Lord, Vanessa Raye, Liyah Alize, Crystal Whitney, Noelle Synclair, Aaron Rey, Jada Pinkett Fox, and Patrick M. Mikyles), event hosts will include Marsha Dimes and our very own spiritual advisor, Sister Helen Holy.

Of course, true to the name, you can find some kick-ass burgers on the menu to go with your shablams.

Elsewhere on the property, Tanner Roberts has been working tirelessly to get the kitchen up and running alongside general manager Ricky Veloz and bar manager Matthew Ryan. Lighting and sound come courtesy of Jason Slawicz and Brian Powell.

A lot of talented people have put their hearts and souls into a successful launch. And right now when drag comes under constant attack in Texas and other states with morally backward leadership, the time couldn’t be better to hit the bank for a huge stack of ones and support these front-line fighters for justice and equality.

Back rolls or no back rolls.
