Put Some Gay In Your Day, Dallas!

Queens For Days—Two Of Them To Be Exact!

Well, here we are a few days into September and we still have drag performances in Texas, despite continued conservative threats to the art form. Small victories! (VERY small, but we’ll take a win where we can right now.)

Over the next few days, you have two opportunities to visit the iconic Rose Room at Station 4 in the gayborhood to support local drag—and crown a few new stars in the making.

First up, tomorrow night at 9:00 p.m. (and going late, late, late) it’s the Rising Star Pageant. The theme is “Slaying the Elements” and categories include Presentation, Talent, Evening Wear and a Final Battle.

Then on Monday, prepare to laugh your padded (or unpadded) ass off at the Yellow Rose Comedy Queen competition. The theme for this showdown is “Super Queeroes” and talent categories include Interview, Comedic Talent, Outrageous Evening Gown and The 60-Second Spokeswoman.

Mark your calendars for one (or both!) and you might be in the audience for the crowning of a queen destined to become the next household drag name.

Even if that’s not in the cards, we promise it’ll be fun.
