A Puerto Vallarta vacation. Halloween. Dia de Los Muertos. And all the adult beverages we want?

Fortunately, all these things can be your favorite things during Vacaya’s next LGBT+ resort takeover in PV—and you should sign up now, too. Before it’s too late.

It all goes down this October 29 through November 5 at the Hilton Vallarta Riviera All-Inclusive Resort. The price includes eight days and seven nights of oceanfront accommodations, all the food and boozy beverages you can handle, tons of parties, specialty entertainment, and unique experiences that can only be found in Mexico during the Dia de los Muertos celebrations.
We had the pleasure of staying at Hilton Vallarta Riviera All-Inclusive Resort this past May during Vallarta Pride. We were hesitant at first to go to our first all-inclusive resort in Mexico because we know they’re not all created equal. Well, we loved it!
The secluded location makes for a truly relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of most Puerto Vallarta beaches. Unlike Los Muertos Beach and those in the hotel zone, few vendors stop by to bother you while you’re napping (a major pet peeve) and you have quick access to unlimited food and drinks while staring out at the deep blue sea.

The Hilton’s neverending amenities made for one really fun week with our BFF—and that’s with only a few dozen gays staying at the resort. Imagine the shenanigans and celebratory spirit when the entire resort gets taken over by Vacaya and its hundreds of LGBTQ fans.
Eat and drink your way through 11 different restaurants, lounges and bars (including a great free grab-and-go for sandwiches and snacks to pack for your flight home). Chill out in the well-appointed spa. Head to the rooftop hot tub to mingle with new friends. Grab drinks at the swim-up bar. Or book a cabana for an even more pampered experience with a dedicated server tending to your every whim.
Best of all, even though you’re a few miles south of the Zona Romantica and Puerto Vallarta’s vibrant LGBTQ entertainment venues, you can catch a 10-minute cab or Uber for right around $5 US each direction.
Speaking of currency, contact your bank a couple of weeks before your vacation and request Mexican Pesos in the smallest denominations possible so you don’t have to find change. Most banks do this service for free (we know Wells Fargo does, for sure). The locals and hotel staff really prefer getting tipped in pesos versus US dollars (though they’ll still happily take them), so it’s good to already have some pesos on hand.
Otherwise, you really don’t have to think about anything beyond packing your passport, a few swimsuits and 27 or so costumes.
Gay relaxing always involves costumes, you know.
